Urinary incontinence
What is Urinary incontinence?
Urinary incontinence is a lost of the sphincter control resulting in involuntary leakage of urine. The leakage can occur after the stress like exercising, laughing or coughing or just come unexpectedly as a sudden urge. Urinary incontinence can be temporarily, especially when it’s caused by overconsuming alcohol, caffeine, carbonated drinks or spicy food, or persistent, affecting the patient’s social life, relationships and work.
Why can’t I control my urination?
There are multiple reasons that lye under the involuntary urination. The most common include the following:
- overconsuming drinks and food acting as diuretics,
- constipation,
- urinary tract infection,
- pregnancy and childbirth,
- diabetes,
- menopause or removal of uterus in female patient,
- enlarged prostate or prostate cancer in male patient,
- neurological disorders,
- weakening of bladder associated with age.
If the leakage of urine bothers you, you should visit a doctor to check the reason of the urinary incontinence and to treat the reason if needed.
Is there any effective treatment for urinary incontinence?
Many people all over the world ask the same question: how to control the urination? Unfortunately, there is no single medication effective for all of the patients. Treatment of the age-associated bladder weakening is probably one of the hardest cases. However, the are some treatment strategies effective for the urinary leakage.
- Stop drinking alcohol and smoking.
- Maintain a healthy diet rich of fiber, avoiding carbonated drinks, spicy food or artificial sweeteners.
- Add bladder training and pelvic floor muscle training to your daily routine. Studies show that systematical bladder training is very effective for improving frequency, nocturia, and urgency (H. Lee, S. Cho et al. Short-term Effects of a Systematized Bladder Training Program for Idiopathic Overactive Bladder: A Prospective Study // International Neurourology Journal, 2013, March, 17(1): 11–17).
- Consult with your doctor about taking the medication for urinary incontinence.
Japanese medicines for urinary incontinence are certified for safety and efficacy. We would particularly recommend the following medications from Japan for involuntary urination:
- Spiropent tablets (clenbuterol) for relaxing bladder smooth muscle in patients with stress urination,
- Tonil tablets for contracting external urinary sphincter,
- Hachimijiogan for frequent urination at night, difficulty with urination, a feeling of residual urine and mild urinary incontinence,
- Holin tablets for hormonal disbalance in menopause,
- antibiotics for urinary tract infections, including Ceftazidime, Ciproxan and Flomox,
- Dragon calmness powder for nocturnal enuresis,
- Tryptanol tablets for nocturnal enuresis and decreasing frequency of urination.
Please read carefully all the precautions and contraindications and strictly follow the instructions.
