How effective are Goshajinkigan tablets from Japan for urination problems?
Goshajinkigan is a traditional Eastern medicine Kampo-yaku, containing a combination of such herbal extracts as Rehmannia root, Achyranthes root, Cornus fruit, Dioscorea rhizome, Plantago seed, Alisma rhizome, Poria sclerotium, Moutan bark, Cinnamon bark and powdered processed Aconite root. It increases the peripheral blood flow and elevates the body temperature and provides an antinociceptive (analgesic) effect. Also, Goshajinkigan suppresses C-fiber activation-induced bladder overactivity and, by this, decreases the frequency of spontaneous bladder contraction.
Who should use Goshajinkigan tablets from Japan?
Goshajinkigan tablets are effective for the treatment of decreased urine output or polyuria, dysuria and frequent urination. Studies also show it’s effective for the treatment of nocturia, even for patients unresponsive to α1-blockers or antimuscarinic drugs (H. Yagi, K. Nishio et al. Clinical efficacy and tolerability of Gosha-jinki-gan, a Japanese traditional herbal medicine, for nocturia // Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine. 2016, January, 6(1): 126–129). Furthermore, Goshakinkigan improves peripheral nervous dysfunction by significantly increasing calcitonin gene-related peptide and vasoactive intestinal polypeptides-like immunoreactive substances levels in plasma. In other words, it is effective for the treatment of numbness, cold sensation and limb pain associated with diabetic neuropathy.
