Cataract treatment in Japan: modern approach
A clouding in the eye’s lens is called cataract. There are many reasons of developing cataract:
- aging, people after 40 year have a high risk of developing cataract in the central zone of an eye lens;
- diabetes can also provoke cataract;
- taking the high doses of steroid medications;
- having cataract in family history increases the risk,
- obesity and smoking are also considered a risk factor.
For people in the risk group it’s especially important to prevent the formation of the cataract. Healthy food rich of vitamins E and C and the carotenoids may sufficiently reduce the cataract risk. But if you start feeling the symptoms, such as blurry vision or high sensibility to light, it’s better to see an eye doctor.
Modern ways of the cataract treatment include eyeglasses vision correction, surgical lens replacement and medical treatment. Catalin eye drops containing pirenoxine help to reduce selenite and calcium ions in the eye environment. Thus, this medicine helps to clear the cloudiness and to prevent further development of the cataract at earlier stages. Recent studies also show Catalin eye drops’ effectiveness against presbyopia (Chao-Chien Hu, Jiahn-Haur Liao et al. “Role of pirenoxine in the effects of catalin on in vitro ultraviolet-induced lens protein turbidity and selenite-induced cataractogenesis in vivo”. Please pay attention you need to order at least one box (with 10 small bottles inside) as one bottle can not be used for more then 3 weeks, while you need to continue treatment for seevral months in most cases.
