For adults, start with 0.2 mg of the active ingredient at a time, three times a day immediately before each meal. If its effect is insufficient, the dosage may be increased up to 0.3 mg at a time. Please note that this medicine contains 0.3 mg of the active ingredient in a tablet.

How effective are Voglibose tablets 0.3 mg from Japan for postprandial hyperglycemia (Voglib, Volix)?
Voglibose is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. It works by suppressing the actions of digestive enzymes that degrade carbohydrate and, by this delaying digestion and absorption of carbohydrate. Voglibose tablets effectively suppress rapid increases in blood glucose levels after meals.
Who should take Voglibose tablets 0.3 mg from Japan?
Voglibose tablets can be used for preventing after-meal glucose increase in patients with non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, insulin-dependent patients and patients with steroid-induced diabetes and non-diabetic hyperinsulinaemia. These tablets are generally well-tolerated and safe. Studies also showed that voglibose helps to prevent diabetes in high risk group patients with impaired glucose tolerance and to reduce risk of microvascular and neuropathic complications of diabetes (A. S. Dabhi, N. R. Bhatt, M. J. Shah. “Voglibose: An Alpha Glucosidase Inhibitor”. Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research. 2013, December, 7(12): 3023-3027).
