For adults, take 1 tablet at a time, once a day before or after breakfast.
How effective are Japanese Canaglu tablets 100 mg for type 2 diabetes (canagliflozin, Invokana)?
Canaglu tablets contain canagliflozin hydrate, a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It works by inhibiting the protein SGLT2 which reabsorbs glucose in the kidney. By this, Canaglu tablets effectively reduce blood glucose through the excretion of excess glucose into urine.
Who should take Canaglu tablets 100 mg from Japan?
Canaglu tablets help to control blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes. When used together with diet and exercise, they help to reduce the risk of major heart-related events such as heart attack, stroke, or heart-related death and to reduce the risk of end-stage kidney disease or worsening of kidney function. Canaglu tablets are especially recommended for patients with type 2 diabetes who have known heart disease or diabetic kidney disease (T. A. Zelniker, S. D. Wiviott et al. "SGLT2 inhibitors for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular and renal outcomes in type 2 diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis of cardiovascular outcome trials". Lancet. 2019, January, 393 (10166): 31–39).
