For adults, take 2 tablets (1000 mg of the active ingredient) 2 times a day, in the morning and in the evening.

How effective are Twymeeg tablets 500 mg from Japan for type 2 diabetes (imeglimin hydrochloride)?

Twymeeg tablets are a new oral anti-diabetic medicine. Its active ingredient is imeglimin, an oxidative phosphorylation blocker, the first in its class. It works by inhibiting hepatic gluconeogenesis, increasing muscle glucose uptake, and restoring normal insulin secretion. The dual mechanism of action of imeglimin has the potential to prevent endothelial and diastolic dysfunction, which could provide protective effects on micro- and macrovascular defects induced by diabetes.

Twymeeg tablets are effective for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Imeglimin has been studied in 28 clinical trials with more than 1800 patients.
