Medical effect: Orapenem granules are effective for the treatment of the following diseases and conditions:

• pneumonia,
• otitis media,
• sinusitis,
• treatment of quinolone-resistant Enterobacteriaceae.

Contraindications and precautions: do not use for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Do not use for patients with renal disorder, poor ingestion or parenteral nutrition, or poor general status. Do not use for patients with a history of convulsive diseases such as epilepsy. Use with a great caution if the child or their parents or siblings are prone to allergic symptoms such as bronchial asthma, rash or hives.

If an allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine and consult with your doctor. If you’re taking any other medication, please consult with your doctor before use.

Dosage and administration of Orapenem fine granules 10% from Japan for children (tebipenem pivoxil, antibiotic)

For children: Take 0.04 gram per kilogram of body weight 2 times a day, after meals. The consulting doctor may increase the dosage up to 0.06 g/kg if needed. Standard duration of administration is for 7 days or less.
