Medical effect: Zyvox tablets are effective for the treatment of bacterial infections, including following:

• infections caused by vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium,
• pneumonia, including nosocomial pneumonia (hospital-acquired) and community-acquired pneumonia,
• skin and soft tissue infections, including diabetic foot infection,
• sepsis caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

Contraindications and precautions: do not use for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use in patients with bone-marrow depression such as anemia or renal dysfunction. Do not use for patients with the body weight less than 40 kg. Do not use for patients receiving hemodialysis.

If an allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine and consult with your doctor. If you’re taking any other medication or receiving any other treatment, you have to consult with your doctor before use.

Please note that this medicine may cause increased blood pressure or palpitation. Avoid taking excessive amounts of tyramine-rich food including cheese, beer or red wine while taking this medication.

Dosage and administration of Zyvox tablets 600 mg from Japan for bacterial infections (antibiotic, linezolid)

For adults and children 12 years or over: take 1 tablet (600 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 2 times a day, every 12 hours.

For children under 12 years of age: take 10 mg/kg of the active ingredient at a time, every 8 hours. However, each dose should not exceed 600 mg.

Please note that this preparation contains 600 mg of the active ingredient in one tablet.

How effective are Zyvox tablets 600 mg from Japan for bacterial infections (antibiotic, linezolid)?

Zyvox tablets contain linezolid, a completely synthetical antibiotic of oxazolidinone group. It works by inhibiting protein synthesis initiation of bacteria. Linezolid can boast an absolute oral bioavailability of 100% due to its rapid and complete absorption after oral administration, making Zyvox tablets as much effective as IV injection (C. Roger, J. Who should use Zyvox tablets 600 mg from Japan?

Zyvox tablets are effective against bacterial infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria that are resistant to other antibiotics. It’s particularly used for the treatment of vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium, pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections and sepsis caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It’s not recommended to use this strong antibiotic for the infections that can be treated with antibiotics of broad spectrum. Also, this medicine is not effective against fungal or virus infection.
