Medical effect: Kanamycin sulfate injections are effective for treatment of the following diseases and conditions:

• superficial and deep skin infections,
• lymphangitis or lymphadenitis,
• secondary infection caused by trauma, burn or surgical wound,
• mastitis,
• osteomyelitis,
• tonsillitis,
• acute bronchitis or pneumonia,
• secondary infection in chronic respiratory lesion,
• cystitis,
• pyelonephritis,
• gonococcal infection,
• uterine adnexitis,
• otitis media,
• pulmonary tuberculosis and other tuberculous diseases.

Contraindications and precautions:

Do not use in patients with deafness or with deafness in family history, in patients with renal disorders, patients with myasthenia gravis, patients in poor general condition, pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Dosage and administration of Japanese Kanamycin sulfate injections 1000 mg (antibiotic injections)

For tuberculosis: take intramuscularly 2 times a day 2 times a week or 1 time a day 3 times a week. Kanamycin sulfate is supposed to be taken in conjunction with other antituberculotic medications.

For other indications: take intramuscularly 1 or 2 times a day for the period no longer than 7-10 days.

Kanamycin is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic first synthesized by Japanese scientist Hamao Umezawa. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Kanamycin sulfate injections are effective against various bacteria strains, including E. coli, Proteus species (both indole-positive and indole-negative), Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Serratia marcescens, and Acinetobacter species.

Kanamycin sulfate injections are used in treatment of tuberculosis and other tuberculous diseases in conjunction with other antituberculotic agents. Also, this medication is effective for treatment of various bacterial infections, including skin infections, secondary infections, cystitis, pyelonephritis and otitis media. Kanamycin sulfate injections can be used together with other antibiotics, like penicillin-type or cephalosporin-type, under the supervision of the consulting doctor. Moreover, kanamycin sulfate does not inhibit growth of Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus in gastrointestinal tract and can be considered relatively mild to digestion (H.
