Dosage and administration of Tranilast capsules 100 mg from Japan (allergy)
For adults, take 1 capsule 3 times a day. The dosage may be adjusted by the consulting doctor according to age or symptoms.
How effective are Japanese Tranilast capsules 100 mg (anti-allergic)?
Tranilast is a derivative of anthranilic acid that works as an analog of a metabolite of tryptophan. It suppresses release of such chemical mediators as histamine or leukotriene from the mast cell. By this, Tranilast capsules provide an antiallergic effect. Also, this medicine inhibits proliferation of fibroblasts and suppresses synthesis of collagen and prevents keloid symptoms.
Who should use Tranilast capsules 100 mg from Japan?
Studies have proved that tranilast is effective for the treatment of bronchial asthma, atypical dermatitis, allergic conjunctivitis, keloids and hypertrophic scars (S. Darakhshan, A. B. Pour. “Tranilast: a review of its therapeutic applications”. Pharmacological research, 2015, January, 91: 15-28). This medicine has very low adverse effects and it is generally well tolerated by patients. However, it is not recommended for the patients with liver or kidney diseases as it may cause elevated transaminases.
