Medical effect: Azithromycin tablets are effective for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including following:

• skin infections,
• respiratory infections (including pneumonia),
• urethritis,
• cervicitis,
• strep throat,
• traveler's diarrhea,
• sexually transmitted diseases (including chlamydia and gonorrhea).

Contraindications and precautions: do not use for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Do not use for patients with liver or heart disease.

As this medicine may cause lack of concentration, take care when driving a car or operating dangerous mechanisms while taking this medicine.

Dosage and administration of Azithromycin tablets 250 mg from Japan (antibiotic)

For deep skin infections, lymphangitis or lymphadenitis, pharyngitis or laryngitis, tonsillitis (including peritonsillitis and peritonsillar abscess), acute bronchitis, pneumonia, pulmonary abscess, secondary infections in patients with chronic respiratory disease, sinusitis, periodontitis, pericoronitis, jaw inflammation: For adults, take 2 tablets (500 mg of azithromycin) once a day for 3 days (total 1500 mg). Do not take it for more than 3 days as the action of this dosage lasts for 7 days at total.

Urethritis, cervicitis: for adults, take 4 tablets (1000 mg of azithromycin) at a time. Do not repeat until your doctor instructs you to do so.

Sexually transmitted diseases: for adults, after treatment with azithromycin injection, take 1 tablet once a day.
