Medical effect: Atarax-P capsules are effective for the treatment of the following diseases and conditions:

1. skin allergic reaction,
2. hives and itch caused by skin disease or allergy,
3. anxiety,
4. tension and depression associated with neurosis,
5. nausea, including that due to motion sickness.

Contraindications and precautions: do not use for pregnant, possibly pregnant and breastfeeding women. Do not use in patients with convulsive disorders such as porphyria and epilepsy or its history, QT prolonged, bradycardia or hypokalemia.

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine. As this medicine may cause drowsiness, avoid driving a car or operating dangerous machinery.

If an allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine and consult with your doctor. If you’re taking any other medication, please consult with your doctor before use.

Dosage and administration of Atarax-P capsules 25 mg from Japan (hydroxyzine pamoate, Vistaril)

For skin treatment: for adults, take 2-3 capsules (50-75 mg of hydroxyzine hydrochloride), dividing into 2-3 doses a day.

For anxiety, tension, depression and neurosis: for adults, take 3-6 capsules (75-150 mg of hydroxyzine hydrochloride), dividing into 3-4 doses a day.

The dosage may be adjusted by the consulting doctor according to the age or symptoms. Please note that this preparation contains 42.61 mg of the active ingredient (25 mg of hydroxyzine hydrochloride) in one capsule.

How effective are Atarax-P capsules 25 mg from Japan (hydroxyzine pamoate, Vistaril)?

Atarax-P capsules contain hydroxyzine pamoate, a potent and selective histamine H1 receptor inverse agonist. It works both as antihistamine and sedative drug. Unlike many other first-generation antihistamines, hydroxyzine almost does not affect the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, and, subsequently, rarely produce anticholinergic side effects. So, these tablets have no adverse effects on the liver, blood, nervous system, or urinary tract. Atarax-P capsules are rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, showing the effect within 30 minutes.
