Medical effect: Mystan tablets are effective for treatment of partial and generalized seizures of epilepsy and certain types of status epilepticus.

Contraindications and precautions: Do not use in patients with glaucoma or myasthenia gravis. Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication. Dosage and administration of Japanese Mystan tablets 10 mg from Japan for epilepsy (Clobazam)

• For adults: start with taking 10 mg of the active ingredient as an initial dose. Then gradually increase it up to the dosage prescribed by your consulting doctor (usually 10-30 mg a day, divided into 1-3 times).
• For children: start with taking 0.2 mg of active ingredient per 1 kg of weight as an initial dose. Then gradually increase the dose to 0.2-0.8 mg/kg, divided into 1-3 times a day, according to the prescription of your consulting doctor.
• The maximum dose is 40 mg of the active ingredient a day for adults, 1.0 mg/kg of the active ingredient a day for children. Please note that 1 tablet contains 10 mg of the active ingredient.

Mystan tablets contain clobazam, non-soluble 1,5-benzodiazepine. It is also known by brand names Frisium, Urbanyl, Onfi, and Tapclob. Clobazam works on benzodiazepine receptors of central nervous system, enhancing action of the GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Subsequently, Mystan tablets help to control convulsive seizure caused by epilepsy.
