Medical effect: Furosemide injections are effective for the following purposes:

• treatment of hypertension (main indication for use of Furosemide injections),
• treatment of malignant hypertension,
• treatment of cardiac edema (congestive heart failure), renal edema, hepatic edema, cerebral edema,
• treatment of oliguria due to acute or chronic renal failure,
• promoting excretion of urinary calculi.

Contraindications and precautions: do not use for pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use for patients with anuria, hepatic coma, reduced levels of sodium or potassium in body fluids, renal failure resulting from intoxication with nephrotoxic or hepatotoxic substances, decreased circulating blood volume or decreased blood pressure.

As this medicine may provoke the sudden dizziness, the patient should take care when working at heights, operating dangerous machinery, or driving a car.

If an allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine and consult with your doctor. If you’re taking any other medication or receiving any other treatment, you have to consult with your doctor before use.

Dosage and administration

For hypertension (essential, renal, etc.), malignant hypertension, cardiac edema (congestive heart failure), renal edema, hepatic edema, cerebral edema, promotion of urinary stone excretion: for adults, inject once a day intravenously or intramuscularly.

For oliguria due to acute or chronic renal failure: inject intravenously.

The period of treatment should be prescribed by doctor in charge according to symptoms.
