Medical effect: Carvedilol tablets are effective for the treatment of following:

• Chronic heart failure due to ischemic heart disease or dilated cardiomyopathy is the main indication for use of Carvedilol tablets,
• Mild to moderate essential hypertension,
• Renal parenchymal hypertension,
• Angina pectoris,
• Tachycardiac atrial fibrillation.

Contraindications and precautions: do not use for patients with bronchial asthma, bronchospasm, diabetic ketoacidosis, metabolic acidosis, bradycardia, atrioventricular block, sinoatrial block, cardiogenic shock, decompensated heart failure, right heart failure due to pulmonary hypertension or untreated pheochromocytoma. Do not use for pregnant, breastfeeding or possibly pregnant women.

If an allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine and consult with your doctor. If you’re taking any other medication or receiving any other treatment, you have to consult with your doctor before use.

As this medicine may provoke the sudden dizziness, the patient should avoid working at heights, operating dangerous machinery, or driving a car.

Dosage and administration

For essential hypertension (mild to moderate) and renal parenchymal hypertension: for adults, take 10-20 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day. However, doctor in charge may adjust the dosage according to the age or symptoms.

For angina pectoris: for adults, take 20 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day. However, doctor in charge may adjust the dosage according to the age or symptoms.

For tachycardiac atrial fibrillation: for adults, start with 5 mg of the active ingredient at a time, once a day. If the effect is still insufficient, the dosage may be gradually increased to 10 mg at a time, once a day, and then to 20 mg at a time, once a day. The doctor in charge may adjust the dosage according to the age or symptoms. However, the maximum dose of 20 mg at a time, once a day, should not be exceeded.

For chronic heart failure caused by ischemic heart disease or dilated cardiomyopathy: for adults, start with 1.25 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, 2 times a day after meals. If this medicine is tolerated well, the dosage may be gradually increased gradually at intervals of at least 1 week between each step. If at some point the dose is not tolerated well, the dosage may be reduced. The dosage must be increased or decreased step by step, with 1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg taken at a time, 2 times a day after meals. A maintenance dose is 2.5 mg to 10 mg at a time, 2 times a day after meals. Please note that this medication contains 10 mg of active ingredient in 1 tablet.
