How effective is Japanese Tranilast ophthalmic solution 0.5% for conjunctivitis?
Tranilast is a derivative of anthranilic acid that works as an analog of a metabolite of tryptophan. It suppresses release of such chemical mediators as histamine or leukotriene from the mast cell. By this, Tranilast ophthalmic solution provides an antiallergic effect and helps to treat conjunctivitis.
