In general, this medicine is injected intravenously. Upon the decision of doctor in charge, intra-arterial, intrathecal, intrapleural or intraperitoneal injections may be performed. In the case of bladder tumor, intravesical injection is performed.

Duration of administration is prescribed by the doctor in charge depending on concomitant drugs and the condition of the patient.

Mitomycin is a naturally occurring antitumor quinone from Streptomyces caespitosus. It works by selectively inhibits the synthesis of DNA of cancer cells.
