How effective are Marzulene S combination granules from Japan for gastritis and ulcer (azulene sodium sulfonate, L-glutamine)?
Marzulene S combination granules contain two active ingredients: azulene sodium sulfonate and L-glutamine. Azulene sodium sulfonate is a derivative of azulene, a natural product made of chamomile of the family of Asteraceae. It provides anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties and is used for the treatment of ulcer, gastritis, tonsillitis, stomatitis and conjunctivitis. L-glutamine is an amino acid naturally produced in the body and found in many foods. It increases the blood flow in the gut, by this, promoting the rate of healing on digestive ulcers.
Who should use Marzulene S combination granules from Japan?
Marzulene S combination granules are effective for improving symptoms in patients with gastritis, gastric or duodenal ulcer. Studies also showed this medicine can be effective for the prophylactic treatment of gastric diseases caused by Helicobacter pylori (E. Nakamura, S. Hayashi et al. “Prophylactic effect of glutamine and marzulene against Helicobacter pylori-related gastric diseases in Mongolian gerbils”. Japanese Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2007, 35(5): 479-488).
