Asverin tablets contain tipepidine hibenzate, also known as tipepidine. It’s a synthetic non-opioid thiambutene working as antitussive and mucoactive agent. Asverin tablets reduce coughing and make easier the expectoration of the phlegm.
Who should use Asverin tablets 20 mg from Japan?
Tipepidine hibenzate has been used in Japan and other Asian countries since 1959. It’s safe, generally well-tolerated, has no particular contraindications. That’s why Asverin tablets can be used for relieving cough even in patients with various chronic diseases. While an allergic reaction still may occur, Japanese researchers note that there were only 2 recorded cases of the anaphylaxis caused by tipepidine (E. Mochizuki, T. Shirai et al.
