Gammalon for children's developmental disorders.
Gammalon for developmental disorders for children
Gammalon is a certified medicine containing gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in high concentration. This amino acid plays an important role in human brain as neurotransmitter. Lack of GABA within the body is dangerous, especially in children as it’s connected with various developmental disorders.
For example, in children with autism spectrum disorders, lower GABA concentration in blood is associated with lower IQ and greater impairments in social cognition across groups (David M. Cochran, Elif M. Sikoglu et al. “Relationship among Glutamine, γ-Aminobutyric Acid, and Social Cognition in Autism Spectrum Disorders”. Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology, 2015 May 1; 25(4): 314–322). Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) also correlates with the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid (Richard A. E. Edden, Deana Crocetti et al. “Reduced GABA Concentration in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder” Archives of General Psychiatry, 2012 Jul; 69(7): 750–753). Moreover, researches found that low GABA level can lead to the major depressive disorder in the adolescents (V. Gabbay, K. A. Bradley et al. “Anterior cingulate cortex γ-aminobutyric acid deficits in youth with depression”. Translational Psychiatry, 2017 Aug; 7(8): e1216. https://www.nature.com/articles/tp2017187 ).
But if you think that a healthy child doesn’t have any problems with GABA lever, you might be terribly wrong. Clinical studies proved that low GABA level is associated with risky behavior in the immature adolescent brain (Marisa M. Silveri, Jennifer T. Sneider et al. “Frontal Lobe GABA Levels during Adolescence: Associations with Impulsivity and Response Inhibition”. Biological Psychiatry, 2013 Aug 15; 74(4): 296–304). That means that even healthy child might tend to take risky behavior and get in trouble just because of the lack of GABA level.
While the market is full of different supplements with lower GABA concentration, gamma-aminobutyric acid is effective for treating developmental disorders when taken enough. For instance, in treatment of epilepsy in children the concentration of 40-80 mg per 1 kg of weight is considered effective (L. Gram, A. Sabers, O. Dulac. “Treatment of pediatric epilepsies with gamma-vinyl GABA (vigabatrin)”. Epilepsia, 1992, 33 Suppl 5: S26-9).
Gammalon contains 250 mg of gamma-butyric amino acid in one tablet. It is effective for treating various developmental disorders in children and adolescents, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, depression and speech delay.
- children from 1 to 3 years should take 1-2 g of active ingredient a day,
- 4 to 6 years – 2-3 g a day,
- 7 years and more – adult dosage of 3 g a day.
Pleas epay attention these dosages may be altered due to doctor;s directions or to specific age difference and phisical diference of each child.
