Fucoidan Research by Dr. Nishimoto.
A practicing gastroenterologist Nisimoto Shinji has published his treatment results for more than 200 patients with colorectal cancer and ulcerative colitis with low-molecular-weight fucoidan for more than 10 years. Dr. Nisimoto concluded that fucoidan is an effective adjuvant and prophylactic agent. Moreover, taking fucoidan can significantly improve the intestinal microflora and reduce inflammation. (Nishimoto Shinji. Report of 210Capsules for Patients with Ultrative Colitis and Colon Cancer.) (2), 95-98, 2018-09). Proved medical effects of Fucoidan include the following points:
- oncology prophylactics
- cancer support medicine
- strong detox effect
- protection and reactivation of gastroenteric tract
Fucoidan Research at Kanazawa University
A serious joint study was conducted by gynecologists from Kanazawa University and several specialized antenatal clinics. Women aged 15 to 59 years with a history of gynecological cancer took fucoidan daily for 4 weeks under the constant supervision of doctors. None of the patients had any adverse effects. At the same time, the number of cytokines in the blood significantly decreased in women. Thus, fucoidan showed an effective effect on the immune system. (Kyo Hoko, Hashimoto Shintaro, Koike Koji, Uebaba Kazuo, Ohnogi Hiromu, Suzuki Nobutaka. The Fucoidan from Gagome Kombu (Kjellmaniella crassifolia)) Complementary and Alternative Medicine 15 (1), 29-35, 2018). Maximal dosage of 1500 mg of Fucoidan is recommended
Studies on the effects of Fucoidan at Kyushyu University
Researchers from Kyushu University examined under a microscope human cancerous tissues attacked by an enzyme-coated low-molecular-weight fucoidan. Their experiments allowed to clearly demonstrate that fucoidan actively suppresses the growth of cancer cells. In combination with other medications, such as carboplatin or fluorouracil, the effect of Fucoidan is increased by 2 or more times compared to control samples. (Ishibashi Yuko, Teruya Kiichiro, Eto Hiroshi, Shirahata Sanetaka. Enzymatically digested low molecular weight weight. In 66th Annual Meeting of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan. 2014).
Tottori University's related research
Specialists from the University of Tottori conducted a cross-sectional study of the effect of fucoidan from Japan on the process of human defecation. Men and women suffering from irregular stools and constipation, took fucoidan and placebo pills for equal periods of time, for the purity of the experiment, the reception sequence varied from subgroup to subgroup. The results were astounding. During the reception of fucoidan, in all groups, ordering of the stool and a decrease in the amount of unprocessed substances were noted. In addition, the researchers noted a change in the consistency, smell and acidity level of feces when taking fucoidan, which indicates a rapid effect on the acidity of the intestine. Fundamental studies was carried out in USA as well. More then 1600 studies can be found for Fucoidan querry on US National Library of Madicine website. Click here.
